Well, it sounds like Meshuggah for sure which is good depending on yours perspective. Meshuggah is ALWAYS rhythmically insane. Haake kicks the drumming chair as always and Thordendal is at his form if you really wanna hear some good jazz/fusion phrasing in a metal conext then he's the answer, very lyrical and expressive and his uses of the melodic minor scale over the riff changes are incredible! My only real beef is Jens. He sounds like Max Cavalera now. Ugh! But who listens to Meshuggah for the singer anyway?I just hope they add abit more dynamics than they did in their last album. I'm more into DEI and what was before.

lol, 2:40 sounds like a Rush riff.
The vocals are truly unbelievable.

Great to see other Meshuggah fans here! Yes, this is for sure them... insane. I found the first bit of the song kind of bland, and the snare does get annoying with those 8th note runs... but I can not wait to hear this whole EP, though they will never top DEI. At least they are back up to speed with this one. NOTHING was SLOW AS HECK! Also good to see SABIAN giving Haake the recognition and support he deserves.

Hrm... I don't know if I like this or not, really. It just sounds too "smooth" -- not disjointed enough -- for what I'm used to and what I liked about Meshuggah. To be honest, even though Nothing was quite a bit slower than a lot of their other stuff, I absolutely love[d] that album... it grooved so hard for tech-metal.
